SolarApprovals organizes public California Energy Commission equipment records for installers, system designers and equipment buyers. The directory is independently maintained and is not operated, endorsed or certified by CEC.

What we publish

Exact manufacturer and model names, electrical configurations, reported specifications and dated observations from the CEC photovoltaic module, solar and battery inverter, energy storage system, battery, meter and current and legacy power control system lists. Source files are archived so a record can be checked against the version we inspected.

What a record can establish

A record establishes what was present in the downloaded source on its check date. It does not establish permission to install equipment nationwide, compatibility between components, or compliance with every utility or local permitting requirement.

Editorial responsibility

Registry observations are produced by a repeatable import with source and data checks. Manufacturer documents are attached after model and region review. Automated checks are not independent laboratory testing. We disclose missing information, document scope and disagreements instead of filling gaps with assumptions.

Corrections

For a correction, identify the complete manufacturer name, CEC model string and configuration, the affected page, and the supporting official document. Registry corrections should also be reported to the CEC Solar Equipment Lists program.
