Using the directory

The application does not require an account, payment information or an email address to search equipment. This version does not include advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts.

Comparison selections

The browser stores selected equipment identifiers under the local-storage key solar-compare. This remembers your comparison list on that browser. Use “Clear” in the comparison bar or clear this site’s browser storage to remove it. Shareable comparison URLs contain equipment identifiers.

Search requests and operational logs

Search terms and filters are included in page URLs and are sent to the application server. Hosting infrastructure may record request URLs, IP addresses and browser information in operational logs. Do not enter personal or confidential information in equipment search.

External sources

Links to official California Energy Commission sources open government websites, which have their own privacy practices. Manufacturer evidence is provided through local archived documents. Fonts are hosted with this application. Archived source documents are served from this application when you choose an archived-file link.

Administration contact

The administration contact page is excluded from search indexing. Its email address is retrieved only when you request it using the contact button.
